PEBBLE & BOLLARD

The Pebble & Bollard series has been designed for the contest for the rearrangement of river Drava's banks in Maribor, Slovenia. The concept for this urban furniture tries to integrate the objects with the natural landscape of the river and the walking paths nearby by borrowing the shape of common elements that can be found near water.
Taking as model the pebble's shape we designed an urban bench and a waste bin. The shiny brass in which the furniture is covered tries to create the image of an urban sculpture exhibition.
To complement them, we have also reinterpreted another common element found in the ports, namely the mooring bollard. Thus, we have turned it into an urban stool on which one can sit and relax while admiring the water view.
Although, this series has been designed for a specific contest, it can be used in any location to create a direct 'harbour like' approach and intends to sustain the waterside atmosphere.
